2023 Vin Gris

Vin Gris, French for “Grey Wine” is a traditional name for a white wine style produced using red grapes. Bottled extremely young, this wine is always our first indicator of the quality of a vintage and is meant to be enjoyed as fresh as possible. These wines cut to the core that wine is to be simply enjoyed and shared.

Tasting Notes
Shows a pale rose gold in the glass with fresh aromas of nectarine and honeydew. The palate exhibits a complex interplay of fresh bright acidity and riper than expected fruit of cantaloupe and cherry. These elements combine in the finish to create a perfect wine for spring salads topped with grilled chicken or salmon.

Wine Story

Vineyard Notes
Our 2023 Vin Gris is comprised of 40% Grenache from our Estate, 40% Pinot Noir from the Webster Vineyard and 20% Malbec from our Estate.
Winemaker Notes
The 2023 vintage was much cooler than a typical Paso Robles year manifesting itself with long ripening times and bright acidity. This wine is a great example of the overall fresh, bright character of wines made in 2023

Production Notes
The Pinot and Grenache were both hand picked and immediately pressed. The juice was cold settled for 24 hours, then racked to neutral oak barrels for fermentation. The Malbec is from juice bled from our Estate Malbec that was on the skins for 6 hours to give a bit of color and richness to balance out the early picked whole cluster pressed Pinot and Grenache.
